My biography? Where do I start?? My Dad introduced me to radios when I was a kid in the 1970's. Around 1980 as a family we got into the CB radio craze which boomed around then. By the early '80's I drifted away from CB but maintained an on/off interest in shortwave listening and browsing various frequencies on scanners. I went into a career in the ambulance service where radios became an everyday part of my job, from VHF in the early days to Tetra which we still use today. My Dad passed away in August 2025 and I decided to get into radio and aim for my amateur radio licence, a kind of tribute to my Dad. My brother Martin (Lenny) EI3LG has been a great source of help and encouragment in getting me to where I am today. Along with Martin and members/tutors of the Irish Radio Transmitters Society I persevered and with their help I passed my HAREC exam in May 2026, a huge thanks goes to all of you.
