Hi, I'm Ian. I've been a licenced amateur since 1982. I have recently started getting back into radio after a lengthy gap. I'm interested in HF (IC-7200), digital modes (I've recently acquired an ID-52, IC-705 and an FTM-500) and for some reason I've always liked using handheld radios. I think I've never overcome the sense of awe from my first "handheld" which was a 27MHz toy car remote control that I managed (by sheer persistence and zero skill) to modulate with an old speaker so that I could hear my voice on a harmonic that I tuned my airband radio to. I live in The Cotswolds, an area of outstanding natural beauty in the middle of England. I'm in the Northern part of the area about 30 minutes drive from Stratford-Upon-Avon and about an hour north of London. 73
