CALLSIGN WILL BE OPERATING 26th & 27th SEPTEMBER 2026 GB0EOR is the Special Event Station for the Railways on the Air event, which is usually held over the weekend closest to 27th September. This date celebrates the anniversary of the first steam powered passenger railway which took place on 27th September 1825 - the first passenger train ran on a line in the North East of England from Darlington to Stockton. It is being operated by members of the Harlow and District Amateur Radio Society from North Weald Station. 2015 marked the 150th Anniversary of the Railway, which is the longest heritage railway in Essex, and also the closest to London, being only a couple of miles from the edge of the London Underground Network.
