Interested in Ham Radio nearly all my life and got licensed in November, 2009. Upgraded to General class in March, 2010. Finally upgraded to Extra class in May, 2016. My equipment consists of a Yeasu FTDX 101D with a Heil PR781 mic, Palstar HF-AUTO, Ameritron ALS-1300, Heil Parametric Receive Audio system paired to a Heil HPS-5 power amplifier speaker, Kenwood TS-2000 with a MC60 Kenwood mic for vhf/uhf work. Kenwood TS-480 SAT and Kenwood TM V71 in the mobile. Have a solar powered HF, VHF/UHF station setup in the shop using a Kenwood TM-D700 and Icom 718. Antennas consist of Radiowavz DX160 OCF dipole, 10 meter groundplane. 2 meter vertical for the house shack. Daimond vhf/uhf for the D-700 and a 41 foot vertical for the 718 in the shop shack. I love to contest and have some pretty good results in state QSO parties and even in some of the more international contests. Not bad for a peanut whistle station. I love the hobby and have several family members who have become licensed
