Aged 13 back in 1992, I already was a SWL but I wanted to learn & get some basic radio operating experience. So I bought a very cheap CB Radio for £25, my uncle lent me a power supply and SWR'D the DV-27 aerial mounted on a biscuit tin indoors. Eventually a few years after I was allowed a GPA Halfwave 18ft antenna on rooftop, After returning to the Radio hobbie in march 2024 ,I bought a SSB AM FM Radio 50W power output 30AMP Power supply & Solarcon99 Aerial. Started studying The UK Amateur Radio Foundation Licence, I was so happy I passed on my very first online exam test. Also my mum and brother were both proud of me aswell. Now got an M7call-sign my biggest radio achievement at aged now 45yrs. Next year starting in Jan 2026, I want to start studying towards the middle and next level Up which is known as, The UK Amateur Radio (Advanced) License . Which is then Followed by one more Radio licence at the top which is known as UK Amateur Radio (Full) licence.
