My main goal in ham radio is to have fun and use what I have. I don't have a big contest station, but I have a working radio, a power supply / batteries, and random antennas. That's all I need to get on the air. I enjoy being outside so POTA and SOTA (when I get the motivation to climb) are very enjoyable. I was born in Idaho but I was raised in North Carolina where I spent many hours with my great uncle, Larry "Poogie" Vassey, N4IJB and his radios. Now that he has passed on, I have his callsign, and despite my plans to stay in Alaska, I don't see myself ever giving up his callsign for an Alaska callsign. QSL card received direct will be returned direct. LoTW, Direct or Buro. All contacts uploaded to clublog, qrz, and Lotw.
