SM Pro version 3.25.8 or above required Contesting support is in BETA,
so only use it if you are happy that things may not be perfect
Download this version (or newer) from the Discord -win or -mac channel
SETUP
- Open Settings and ensure these are set correctly:
- ITU ZONE (e.g. 27)
- CQ ZONE (e.g. 14)
- DXCC (e.g. 223)
- CONTINENT (e.g. EU)
- In Settings set CONTEST_ID to:
- CQWPXSSB (for SSB weekend)
- CQWPXCW (for CW weekend)
- In Settings click Create New Log Book
- Name it CQWPXSSB2026 or CQWPXCW2026
- Save and restart SM
- Click Log Template (top menu)
- Select Send Serial Number, Receive Serial Number
- Open the Score Summary widget from the Widgets menu
OPTIONAL SELF-SPOTTING CONTROL
- Select Contesting from the Run Mode menu
- This hides your frequency in the main user list on the website
- Your contact frequencies are also hidden elsewhere on the main feed
DURING THE CONTEST
- For each QSO:
- You send a signal report and serial number (starting at 001 and
incrementing each contact)
- You receive a signal report and serial number
- Enter the received serial number in Received 1
- The WPX prefix is automatically extracted from each callsign and
used for multiplier tracking
SCORING
- Score is total QSO points multiplied by the number of unique
prefixes worked
- Allowed bands:
- 160m
- 80m
- 40m
- 20m
- 15m
- 10m
OPTIONAL FILTERING
- Go to Settings > Clusters/Bands
- Set band filters to only show contest bands
- You are now ready to start logging
AFTER THE CONTEST
- Export the full ADIF log
- Upload it to cqwpx.com/logcheck/
- You may need to use an online tool to convert ADIF to Cabrillo
format
- Switch back to your normal log template and log book database
- Click IMPORT from cloud to sync the contest contacts into your
normal log book
